Eutectic Solder (20gms)
Eutectic Solder (20gms)
Eutectic Solder (63/37 Sn/Pb) is the ideal solder for audio kit construction, especially on PCBs as it has no plastic phase. This minimises the chance of cold solder joints caused by movement of a component lead as the solder sets, cold joints being the cause of circuit noise and/or failure. In this regard it is superior to hobby or common 60/40 fluxed solder wire.
Kester 245 No-clean Cored Wire was developed to complement low residue liquid fluxes being used by the electronics industry. The chemistry is based on some of the same principles that have been safely used for years in mildly activated rosin fluxes. The use of 245 No-clean Cored Wire results in visually acceptable assemblies without cleaning, yet soldering quality and efficiency is comparable to that obtained with mildly activated rosin flux.
Performance Characteristics:
- Superior performance for audio PCB construction
- Highly reliable post-soldering residue
- Minimal residue
- Compatible with leaded and lead-free alloys
- Classified as ROL0 per J-STD-00
- Compliant to Bellcore GR-78
