Common questions

How do I activate my licence?

After purchasing a licence key, log in to VRT at vinylrecordtracker.com.

On the Dashboard, locate the Licence card and click Enter Key. Enter your key exactly as provided and click Activate. The app confirms immediately and your tier is upgraded without restarting.

If activation fails, or if you haven’t received a key after purchase, email vrt@secretchordanalogue.au with your key and the email address on your VRT account.

I’ve forgotten my password — how do I reset it?

VRT doesn’t currently offer a self-service password reset link.

Email vrt@secretchordanalogue.auwith the email address on your account and we’ll reset your password within one business day.

How do I back up and restore my VRT data?

From the Dashboard, find the Backup & Restore card.

Click Back Up Now to download a file containing your complete collection, play history, equipment records, and service events.

Keep this file somewhere safe — your device, cloud storage, or email it to yourself.

To restore from a backup, click Restore from Backup and select your saved file. VRT replaces the current data with the backup. This is also how you migrate your collection to a new device.

How do I export my collection?

Collection export is available on the Pro tier. From the Dashboard, find the Exports card and click Export Collection.

This downloads your album catalogue as a CSV file compatible with Excel, Numbers, or any spreadsheet app — including title, artist, format, storage location, and acquisition details.

On Core or Limited tiers, the Backup function above provides a full data export in JSON format.
